Our story

Talofa lava

Our journey began over 10 years ago in 2015 from our home on Tui Road which is where the name TUIFIT came from. What started as small training sessions at home quickly grew and as more people joined our little training community, we moved our sessions into the Westfield Manukau underground carpark to create more space and to keep the sessions free.

When Covid hit, we found ourselves back where it all began, training from home again. It was another season of adapting, rebuilding and continuing to show up for our people. From there we spent three years training from our home studio, investing in gear like a rig and a climbing rope to expand our functional training sessions. We eventually stepped into our own gym space becoming what is now Common Room.

The location may have changed over the years but the heart behind what we do never has. We have been called to create a welcoming space where everyday people can move, grow, connect and become stronger together.

From Tui Road, to the carpark, to the studio and now onto the gym floor. Every part of the journey has led to building our community.

Why us?

We meet people where they are, help them move well and help them become stronger for everyday life.

We believe fitness should be challenging but also accessible, with quality coaching and consistency.

Success looks a little different for everyone here at Common Room. Whether the goal is strength, confidence, better health, weight loss or simply showing up consistently, we aim to create an environment where people feel supported to work towards their goal together.
